Policies and Procedures Agreement

Thank you for choosing Emerald Paws Pet Grooming Parlor for your pet's grooming needs. Please review the following policies and procedures before scheduling an appointment:

1. Appointment Scheduling:

  • Appointments can be scheduled by phone or through our online booking request.

  • We recommend scheduling appointments in advance to secure your preferred time slot. In the future clients may be required to stay on at least an 8 week schedule to be considered existing clients.

2. Late Policy:

  • Clients are expected to arrive on time for their scheduled appointments.

  • A 10-minute grace period will be provided. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

  • Rescheduling due to lateness is subject to availability and may incur a rescheduling fee.

  • Failing to notify or show up to an appointment will require a booking deposit of $25 before any additional appointments may be scheduled.

3. Drop Off and Pickup Procedure:

  • Given the personalized nature of our one-on-one grooming services, it's essential to maintain a punctual drop-off and pickup schedule to ensure the best experience for all pets and their parents.

  • We kindly request that you arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. For pickup, I will notify you 15 minutes before your pet is ready. Following this notification, you will have a 30-minute window to return to the grooming parlor for payment and to collect your pet. A late arrival fee of $5 will be applied for every 15 minutes beyond the designated pickup time. In the event of a late pickup, Emerald Paws reserves the right to place your pet in a temporary holding area for their safety and comfort.

  • Latchkey services may be arranged for pet parents who notify us in advance, subject to availability. Please note that latchkey services are exclusively for dogs who are properly kennel trained, with no disruptive behaviors such as barking or scratching at doors. The fee for latchkey services is $20 per hour.

  • Your cooperation in adhering to our scheduling policies ensures a smooth and efficient grooming experience for all pets in our care.

4. Pre-existing Conditions:

  • Emerald Paws Pet Grooming Parlor is not liable for any pre-existing conditions or health issues discovered during grooming.

  • This includes conditions that may be hidden underneath matting or fur, such as skin irritations or infections.

5. Liability for Injuries:

  • While we take every precaution to ensure the safety and well-being of your pet during grooming, Emerald Paws Pet Grooming Parlor is not liable for any injuries that may occur.

  • This includes injuries resulting from your pet's behavior or temperament, such as nipping or scratching, and matt removal.

6. Health and Vaccinations:

  • All pets must be up-to-date on vaccinations as required by law.

  • If your pet has any health concerns or medical conditions, please inform us prior to the grooming appointment. Falsifying or not disclosing any health conditions or concerns prior to a grooming appointment will result in a dissolution of any current or future grooming services. Pet parents will be required to pay full amount of grooming service.

7. Cancellation and Rescheduling:

  • We understand that plans may change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance.

  • Late cancellations may result in a cancellation fee.

8. Payment Policy:

  • Payment is due at the time of service.

  • We accept cash, credit/debit cards, and other forms of electronic payment.

9. Additional Fees

Behavioral Fee:

  • At Emerald Paws Pet Grooming Parlor, we prioritize the safety and well-being of your pet during grooming sessions.

  • Pets requiring additional time, patience, or specialized equipment (e.g., muzzles, slings) due to behavioral challenges may incur an additional behavioral fee.

  • If at any point during grooming, the safety of your pet is compromised, we will halt the service and consult with you, the pet parent, to determine the best course of action.

Matting Fee:

  • We believe in humanity before vanity when it comes to grooming your pet.

  • A matting fee of $1 per minute of de-matting will be applied to grooming sessions.

  • De-matting methods may include brushing and breaking apart small mats or shaving off and starting fresh in cases of severe matting.

  • Our approach to de-matting depends on the severity of the mats and your pet's tolerance level.

  • We are dedicated to educating pet parents on how to prevent matting in the future to ensure the comfort and well-being of their pets.

Flea Fee:

  • While we do not mandate that clients use monthly flea and tick preventatives, we strongly recommend it for the health of your pet and the safety of our grooming environment.

  • If fleas are discovered on your dog or cat during check-in or at any point during the grooming process, a $25 fee will be added to the total cost of service.

  • This fee covers the extensive disinfection and treatment required for our grooming space.

  • Additionally, your pet will be washed in a flea treatment shampoo to eliminate any existing eggs, juveniles, or adult fleas, ensuring a flea-free environment for all pets in our care.

10. Satisfaction Guarantee:

  • We aim to provide high-quality grooming services and ensure your satisfaction with the results.

  • If you are not satisfied with any aspect of your pet's grooming, please let us know, and we will do our best to make it right. Emerald Paws Pet grooming Parlor must be notified within 48 hours of original appointment for satisfaction guarantee to be valid.

By scheduling an appointment with Emerald Paws Pet Grooming Parlor, you agree to abide by the above policies and procedures. A physical copy of this agreement will be signed the day of your pets appointment and a customer copy will be provided. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
